    Default Waterproofing crib mattress

    Hi,

I was planning on registering for 2 Ultimate crib sheets, but my mom keeps stressing the need for a waterproof mattress cover for UNDERneath the normal crib sheet. I thought this was addressed in Baby Bargains, but I can't find that section anywhere, but Should you/can you use a waterproof mattress protector, then the normal crib sheet and THEN the Ultimate crib sheet? Is that helpful, overkill, or unsafe to have 3 layers?

    Thank you.

We've been fine with the Ultimate. The one time DD climbed into the crib naked and peed (older), just the side of the sheet got wet. We've now got 4 Ultimates for all our cribs/beds. I've found a couple second hand. BTW, walmart.com has them cheaper than BRU.

Is your mattress "laminated" or waterproof? Then a mattress pad may not be necessary. I did get the Carters waterproof mattress pad, and then the crib sheet and then the ultimate crib sheet. When we've had "accidents' or major spit ups, I just peel off a layer and we all go back to sleep.

Depends on what your needs are. The UCS is awesome!!!
