Default Need a good, solid glider/ottoman

I live in Canada and am looking to buy a good, solid, but not overly expensive ($400 or less) glider for my baby's nursery.
    Any recommendations?

I don't have a suggestion for a glider but have you considered a comfortable rocker/recliner? I had a nice rocking chair for DD1 and for DD2 we went with a comfortable rocker recliner that was on sale. I don't regret the purchase at all.

Enjoy today mama, it will be gone before you know it.

I don't know about Canada, but if you have Craig's List or an equivalent, that worked out great for me. I got an almost brand new Dutuilier glider and nursing ottoman for $150.00 and use it all the time.

    Default Shermag

I have a Shermag glider and ottoman (not the base model) that I bought with my daughter 4.5 years from Burlington Coat Factory (Baby Depot). I think that, on sale, it was less than $300 for both pieces.

I have been very happy with it. It still works like new and it has definitely been well-used. It was a lifesaver on those many, many, many late nights.

My only suggestion would be to maybe look for one that is fairly wide, tall and has a recline feature. Ours doesn't have the recline, and I wish it did, but otherwise it was a great choice.

I am in Canada. I have a Dutalier (around $1000 with ottoman) and Storkcraft (under $200 for both pieces). The quality of the Dutalier is MUCH MUCH better. I was just thinking last night how much use that glider has gotten over the years. Well worth the money IMO.

I highly doubt you will find a new Dutalier or Shermag (similar quality) for much under 1K in Canada. I could be wrong, but that's my sense. If you buy new, you could always order new seat pads/cover set.

Love love LOVE my Shermag. Like a pp, mine came as a glider/ottoman set. Bought it at Babies R Us and paid about $300 (US) or less...we were able to use a Babies R Us coupon on it which helped considerably! You could also save up some of the gift cards and cash you'll likely receive for the baby and put those towards purchasing a nicer glider than you might otherwise be able to afford.
