Default Which hot dogs are nitrate/nitrite free?

DD loves hot dogs, and we buy her Hebrew Nationals, but I don't know if they are nitrate/nitrite free. Does anyone know offhand? And if they aren't, what are good brands that are all beef or turkey? Thanks!

I know Hebrew National are kosher, but I don't think they are nitrate/nitrite free. I think you have to find uncured hot dogs for those. Applegate Farms is the brand I used to buy, but I decided that DS doesn't eat that many, so I'm ok with the Hebrew National. And they just taste SO much better.

Are you a Costco member? They have Coleman hot dogs that are delicious and they are nitrate free. I haven't seen them at my local grocery store, but I'm sure other places carry them. We bought them for a cook out last year and everyone loved them.

Applegate Farms have nitrate/nitrite free beef, turkey and chicken dogs. They have some in organic and some in conventional, just w/o the nitrates/ites. We can get them at Whole Foods and Wegmans.

Thanks everyone! We don't have TJs here, but are Costco members, so we'll check that suggestion and the Applegate kind out.

We get these from TJ's and they are good. They have two kinds side by side that are N/N free and these (Applegate) have about 8g less fat pr. dog.

They convert into carcinogens which are cancer causing agents. Nasty stuff. Read this article and you may never eat deli meat again. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16361276/#storyContinued

Oscar Mayer Naturals are beef with no nitrate/ites added. They are getting hard to find so I don't know if that means they are discontinuing them. I don't even see them on the OM website. I *think* we got our last pack at SuperTarget.
