When I first joined these boards (after being a long-time lurker) I didn't realize how well acquainted all the mommies (and daddies) are with eachother, so I was posting with an anonymous tone of voice (hard to explain what I mean, but hopefully you get it). Now I realize what an amazingly tight-knit community this is and feel very bad for not having introduced myself earlier, so here goes...
My name is Nechama and I live in the NY-metro area with my amazing husband of 4 years. I'm a new mom to my best friend and partner-in-crime, my 6 month old son, Benjamin (see signature below).
I've gotten such great advice from so many of you already (and hopefully have given useful advice too!) and I hope to continue to be an active member in this community.

Hi! And consider yourself "officially" welcomed :-) I guess I'm a relative newcomer myself compared to many of the longtime members, but it is nice to have plenty of people around who already sort of know each other and are at different stages in the parenting process.
