I really like tinyprints.com but I don't think they're the cheapest. You can find discounts via cookie magazine or some other parenting magazine that's usually 10% and I think they're having a sale right now.

Other than that, I've heard/seen other mamas do vistaprint, shutterfly, ofoto type sites to make your own. I think those are the most cost effective. Tiny Prints comes in a heavier cardstock and is matted, which I like.

For my last DD we used purplestork.com. We went with the design-only option which gave ups a .jpeg file that was sized to make 5x7 photo prints. We then went to Sams and printed out as many copies as we wanted/needed. The design cost $35 and they worked with us on several drafts until we were 100% happy (they even let me customize the layout a bit to work better with the photos that we wanted to use). The prints cost us no more than 20 cents each, and I think I bought envelopes at a craft store and had an embosser made with our return address to emboss the back of the envelopes.

We got TONS of compliments on the announcement.

Another happy www.purplestork.com customer, using the design-only option.

I love tiny prints too, but if you're looking for something simple without a picture, vistaprint is really good. You can always find 40-50% off codes and the quality is nice. If you want pictures and super cuteness, tinyprints.

I actually made mine for DD on Photoshop. I'm really not an expert, I just sort of messed around with it at a class and then made the announcment. I had White House printers print them for me. They were a 5" square and to print 75 was less than $17.

People loved them and said that they were very original.

A lot of what I used on Photoshop is on the Photoshop Elements program which a lot of people have.

    Just a thought, if you wanted to get creative. . . . . .

We actually did ours at Costco.com! 50 announcements with photos, with envelopes for like $15! And they had them done in an hour--we ordered online, picked the local Costco to pick up at, and they had them ready in an hour. You have to go into the Costco Photo Center www.costcophotocenter.com. Sign up for an account, and then it'll show you photo greeting cards that you can make--it's $14.99 for 50, then 5.99 for each additional 25. Includes envelopes. They are also large sized--6X7.5 and only need 1 stamp to mail.

Another Tiny Prints fan here! We got our holiday cards there last year and I can't wait to use them again for holiday cards and our birth announcements this year. Modern and adorable all at the same time. Might not be the cheapest you'll find, but they are high quality and get tons of compliments!

Same topic about a week ago:

    My response from that thread:

I suggest either Costco, or better yet, use a design service on Etsy then print at Costco. For about $15, you can get a custom design as a jpeg image. At Costco, you can bring in the jpeg image and they will print 50 for $14.99, $6.99 for each additional 25 including envelopes. If you go this route, you should make sure it is sized for 6x7.5" (or a 5x7 fits in their envelopes too). In all likelihood, I will go this route for Christmas cards this year.

I used this etsy seller for DD1's 1st birthday invitations and was very pleased with the quality and service: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id...ion_id=5794632
