I have an almost 4 year old PC (Micro Center house brand with Windows XP) and I have had AVG on it for the past couple of years and haven't had any issues, but now I think my computer has been infected with something.

I get this notice when I first logon to my computer (only my logon, not DHs) and it says that I have 361 errors that need to be fixed using the Error Fixer program. I have no idea how it got there and have deleted it but about a week later it has come back. Also a while back I started getting this notice that looks to be something from the computer that says "Windows Defender Service is not working and needs to be reset, to restart manually look in the control panel" I did that and didn't find anything.

I use Firefox for web browsing and it clears my passwords, history, etc. after each time I am done using the computer. I also use Facebook but I am very picky about which apps I use. I did once download Limewire (two years ago) and recently finally deleted it.

I also need recs for a backup hard drive.
