The snarky side of me agrees with PP who said that after the teacher's moaning at the parent's night, I'd be tempted to send the cupcakes anyway. But, if you aren't so snarky, I like the jello idea. If you want to get even healthier, I have been making fruit juice jello a lot with DD - just knox gelatin and whatever juice you prefer. Grape juice would make really pretty jello. If you follow the directions on the knox box it makes nice firm jello - closer to jigglers than regular jello.

I think plums are a great idea. You could add purple yogurt dip of some kind if you wanted to.
