Default Corolle Calin Yang or Charming Pastel?

So, I've been trying to decide btwn Corolle Calin Yang
    http://www.kidsurplus.com/itemDetail...earch-true.asp

    or Charming Pastel
    http://www.kidsurplus.com/itemDetail...earch-true.asp

DD is half Asian, half Caucasian, so neither really looks like her. What I don't like about the Yang is the fact that she's the only Calin who's eyes don't close. What's up with that? Not crazy about her outfit either, but that's not a big deal. I also am not fond of how her lips are pursed. But, otherwise, she looks closer to my daughter than most of the other blue-eye'd Calin's

The Charming pastel has a cute face/expression. The picture looks like brown eyes, but I've read that they're blue. I like that they blink.

Hmmm so weird that her eyes don't close. For me, I prefer Calin without hair, too. She just is such a great tote-able doll and gets washed a lot and I dunno, I have a hard time imagining the hair could make it through that well.
The lack of sleeping eyes makes me sad, too. If it were me I would go with Charming Pastel if those are your two choices. Our Calins are from Goodwill and Ebay so who knows who they are

Charming pastel or charming pink? This site gives very accurate descriptions: http://www.liveandlearn.com/corolle/index.html

Laughing pink has brown eyes: http://www.liveandlearn.com/corolle/...ghingpink.html

Calin Darling is "multi-ethnic" (their description) and has brown blinking eyes: http://www.liveandlearn.com/corolle/darling.html

FWIW, both of our Calin's have hair.

DD#1 has Cheerful Pink: http://www.liveandlearn.com/corolle/calinblonde.html Blue eyes.

DD#2 has virtually the same doll but with brown eyes. It was VERY hard for me to find the hair and brown blinking eyes. I don't believe she is sold anymore.

Hmmm... I remember seeing an Asian Calin when I was shopping for DD's last year and thought it was very cute & considered buying it, even though we are not Asian (we are also not blond/blue-eyed, so to me it looked just as much like/not like us as the standard Calins). So, that's what I was going to say until I read about the eyes not closing. I do think kids like that feature (though, come to think of it, I'm not sure if DD cares-- she thinks all the dolls should sleep on their stomachs like she does).

FWIW, this is the Calin we ended up getting. The skin color is much darker than it looks in the live and learn photo.

Thanks for the insights. I did look at the liveandlearn site based on recs here for better pics. Thanks, bubbaray for pointing out the other Calins with brown eyes. I'm not sure which way to go. Like I said, the Yang looks the closest to her, but I don't like that her eyes don't close. It seems like that's a feature that kids like, from what you all are saying. What to do, what to do....

My girls really like the closing eyes. HOWEVER, lip balm messes up the closing mechanism and makes mommy crazy. Just so you know....

Honestly? I'd get the closing eyes.

BTW, soap and a toothbrush and a toothpick helps get the lip balm out. In case you ever need to know....
