Default Gross & need a new backpack for traveling with kids

Ugg. I just randomally went through our old Land's End diaper bag back pack and MOLD! Ugg I need to be better at unpacking.

Ok so I need a new backpack for travel with the kids. We don't really need a diaperbag one per se. I do want a backpack with lots of zipper areas to organize.

It is used for airplane trips and occasionally in a park or day long trip.

    Any ideas?

    TIA!

I LOVE my Rick Steves Civeta (?) backpack! It is so lightweight. It has a main compartment, and two others in front. It wads up nicely to pack in a suitcase, or folds out for a travel backpack.

I love the Eddie Bauer backpack i picked up at Target about a year ago. it has a little pouch at the top for ipod/wallet/phone, big open section, front section with lots of organizer areas, and a smaller open section with a zipper in the very front. also two water bottle places on the sides and padded straps. doesn't make sense, but it has lots of areas! we always take it on the plane or to disneyland or wherever for the day.

i can't find a link to the one i have, but i'll update if i find one.

This is probably my favorite even past the diaper days. Because it is sectioned, it is harder to "lose" stuff at the bottom of the bag. The cooler is great to haul snacks and waters on outings or to hold clothing or swimming stuff. The top holds all your other stuff and the zip pouces on the sides are great for phones and ipods. You can even take out the change pad and use that space for magazines or use the pad as a spot to sit if you are out on a picnic. It is a great bag!!! My mom actually just borrowed mine for some upcoming outings. The shorthaul is great for shorter outings.

Also check out the LLBean and Lands End clearance sections. The bags are great and hold up so well.

Have you tried washing the bag? I had a backpack from my dc that had an applesauce explode and mold inside. It went through the wash and came out like new!
