How long should my child ride rear facing? What about ages for other seats?

I just faxed this to my ped. Their 12 month handout still has the old recommendation. When I brought it up to the nurse's attention she was super bitchy and kept telling me that their rec of FFing at 1 year and 20 pounds was up to date.

I hope the ped reads my fax and agrees to update the handdout.

Thanks for posting the link. Just yesterday DH was complaining about how uncomfortable DS' legs looked rearfacing & maybe we should turn him forward. What! he is just 19months old. Poor guy was pretty upset and couldn't understand why I bit his head off (in my defense, I thought we were on the same page on this topic & discussed about this before). Fwded him the link.
