    Default Need book recommendations

I started reading to DS about a month or so ago and he's been paying attention and we found out that he LOVES books - he keeps bringing them to us asking us to read them. We currently have only 4 books:
    1. goodnight moon
    2. go dog, go
    3. puppies and kittens
    4. puppy and friends

I want to buy more, and I need recommendations for books. While I understand that different kids like different things, we are still figuring out what we like, and would like to go with regular "hits"

    Thank you!!

Did you check out the recommended book thread pinned in this forum?

I'd suggest that you hit the library and take out a bunch of books to see what you like. Or go sit at Borders for an hour and read from their children's section.

The dummy that I am, I didn't check the sticky
    Thanks for pointing it out.

And also I like your suggestion - I'll park myself in borders next week with DS and figure out what we like.

    thanks a lot!

We love Everywhere Babies, also books with pics of baby faces are a big hit around that age.

Dr. Seuss books are good at that age too. They like the repetition of the rhyming sounds.

We don't have much experience with books as DS is just 9 months, but the one I think is really sweet is "Guess How Much I Love You." Also, I was at TJ Maxx yesterday and they had quite a few board books in the $4.99/$5.99 range.

At your DS' age, our DC's faves included:

    Dear Zoo
    Sandra Boynton books
    Karen Katz books
    The Hungry Catepillar
    My Big Animal Book
    Big Board First 100 Words
    Animal Kisses
    Peekaboo Kisses
    Noisy Baby (Lamaze)
    Peekaboo Zoo/Peekaboo Park (Lamaze)
    Ten Little Ladybugs
    Good Night Sweet Butterflies

With 3 book loving DC, we have built up quite a library over the years.

    All Sandra Boynton books
    Dr Seuss books are fun
Dinosaurumpus and Down By the Cool of the Pool by Tony Mitton and Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae (all are illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees). These are huge favorites here
