    Default Step2 playhouse, kitchen, etc.

I'd like to get a play kitchen and maybe a few climbing things for the backyard. I checked Craigslist and stuff seems to be either worn out/faded because it's been used outside...or expensive, considering that it's not new. Any tips for getting good deals? Is there anyone that has good sales on Step2 or Little Tikes?

I have found the step2.com website to have some good deals. Right now they have a bunch of items with free shipping. Plus, the website has way more products. We have several step2 products and I think they are better made than Little Tikes. Little Tikes also has a website to buy directly from them. Google to search for coupon codes. It's hard to find kitchen sets and climbers used that still look good. Plus, with buying new you turn around and resell it later after you are done.

If you belong to Costco- you might also see what is available seasonally there- we picked up a nice Step 2 kitchen in fall for Christmas- it is a really nice one that Step 2 sells for 150 bucks plus shipping; we paid I think 115 or 120- it included plates, some food, etc.

Just offering a different perspective, but IME, kids rarely notice or care about the fading. If you let someone else take the initial financial hit by buying new, you can often resell on CL for exactly what you paid for the item. I've purchased used slides, etc. in the past and resold for what I paid or sometimes even slightly more if I got a great deal initially.

I agree with Brittone2. We were given a climbing structure and slide last year that has fading. The kids don't notice and I don't notice anymore either.

Keep an eye out for them at yard sales and on CL, but also look for the curbside. My neighbors just put one out for the trash that had a little fading, but was perfect otherwise. They offered it to us first, but since we already have one, we didn't have room for another structure.

Good luck! Now that DD can climb up on the structure by herself she loves using it.

They sell spraypaint at the hardware store that is specifically for plastic. Something to consider if you find a nice used one that has fading.

Kids REALLY don't care about fading, it's true.

I love Step2 products, they really hold up and are just well-thought-out.

For new retail, walmart.com usually has the best prices (vs Amazon, Target, etc) and free ship to store. And don't forget your 1% ebates LOL. ALWAYS comparison shop. I just bought a Step2 desk for DD:

I have 15% off Kohl's purchases and a $75 gift card for Sears.... but those two stores were asking $80 for this desk while Wal-Mart has it for $58.
    DD - barely 5
    DS - almost 3
