Default PBK Beach Towels on "sale" - should I buy?

I remember last year reading here about a great deal on these towels, but of coure I missed it.

They are on sale again, but only 20%, but shipping is a whopping $6. Anyone have tips on how to get a better deal?

I know I got a few towels at Christmastime when they were like $9.99 w/ free monogramming and free shipping. Of course, that doesn't help you now, I know, but that was the best deal I've seen on them. I doubt they'll do anything like that now that the correct season for them is upon us.

For what it's worth, the towels are cute but not that nice. I think I've found better quality at Target, honestly. They're pretty thin, IMO.

We have one and I don't think the quality is that great. Our favorite towels are costco beach towels (the kirkland brand). For the price, the quality is amazing

I also got one with the amazing deal and wasn't impressed with the quality. I'd skip it.

Good to know-they are awfully cute in the pictures but sounds like they are skimpy. Not good considering it's PBK.

We got some of the PBK towels during that last deal. DD's embroidery is already coming undone after 2 uses. I would skip them.

I got a huge, thick beach towel as a gift for being a bridesmaid one time - I think either Lands End or LL Bean? Much better quality than the PBK ones, although mine is just a solid red. PBK knows how to get us with their cute patterns!

Target has some really cute appliqued towels every summer for around $12. They are easy to have a name embroidered on if you want to make a special gift.

Yup, they sure do. Plus I'm a sucker for monograms and personalization. I guess LLBean does it too. It'll be my LO's first "proper"summer at the beach (just a newborn last year) so I just want her to have her own awesome girly beach towel!
