Default Solids--how do I prevent LO from getting food on her clothes?

How do I prevent LO from getting her food everywhere--especially on her clothes? I've seen the long sleeve bibs, but do those get hot (now that it's summer?)? The bibs we have protect the front of her fine, but she'll put her hands in her lap and then it's on her pants or she'll rub her hands together and get it on her sleeves or even the sides of her shoulders

I can wash her body, but the food stains her clothes often. And I don't want to strip her naked for every meal. I do once in a while, but it's a pain to do it every time. What do other people do?

    Thanks.

I slide them up to the table close enough so that their legs are all the way under and it's hard to get hands onto their legs. Now, at almost 2, he uses a napkin on his lap, and that helps a lot.

    A few things...

    1. Buy darker colored clothes that will hide stains. I won't buy light colored shirts for either child at all anymore unless I don't care about them getting ruined by food/outdoor/play stains

    2. Get longer bibs that are toddler sized. Bummies makes a great one with short sleeves. Since it's summer it shouldn't matter that it's not long sleeved.

    3. Take off her bottoms for meals - the shirt is covered by a bib but the bottoms aren't so if you just strip the shorts/skirt it saves changing outfits .

I take her clothes off pretty much as soon as she gets in the house now that it's summer. I know it's a pain to take off their clothes to eat but that's the easiest solution for us

We enjoy the splendid mess! (And make sure she isn't wearing anything special.)

    Clothes? Who wears those anyway?
Seriously, I come home from work these days and DD is in nothing but a diaper with bits of food stuck in her hair, her nose, you name it.
DH (SAHD) is in boxers, and DS is in underpants. If I'm lucky.
I come home and feel hopelessly overdressed.

Buy cheap clothes is my answer
Good news is that the messiest stage doesn't last more than a year (ok maybe two).
    DD - barely 5
    DS - almost 3
