    Default Garage Sale WWYD

I need help from experienced garage sale mavens.

My garage is FULL. Stuffed. And that's with mostly low-end things. I mean, I have my Pikkolo out there and a couple of other over-$25 items, but most of the stuff is shoes and clothes.

To create room, I've brought in all my high-end clothes and shoes. The Hannas, the LLBs, the LE. the Absorbas, the Talbots - all inside. In two huge and one big boxes.

Should I even try to sell these things tomorrow, or should I just bite the bullet, take pictures, and sell them online? And what about my LE down buntings, etc. - the winter stuff? Should I put those out for sale now or wait for fall to come?

    Please please tell me WYWD.

Oh boy. I just posted a bunch of stuff to CL, but it was higher priced items. I might take pics of the buntings and winter stuff, but closer to fall, b/c I don't know if you'll get much interest now. Maybe later Aug. I'm wondering what to do with all my kid's clothes too. I might sell them in lots. Have you thought about doing that? Take some photos of the good stuff that goes with the specific sized lots and see if you get any takers? Depends, I guess, on how much you want to get rid of the stuff.

Personally I would do a super cheap, clear out the garage kind of sale with the low end stuff and then later either sell online or do another sale. With a cheap sale, I seriously price things at pennies on the dollar just to get them gone. Maybe even do an 'Everything's A Dollar' theme? When MIL wanted some stuff just GONE we did a sale and I priced things at 10, 25 cents, fill-a-bag for a buck, etc. For things we thought might be worth something we looked on Ebay for a ball park estimate of the going price. Sometimes I'd attach a print out of the Ebay page with a listing for $XYZ price and I'd put a tag for about 10% less. We made over $250. I couldn't believe it! There was so much crap!

For your other question, yes, I think people are starting to buy for fall now. I just went to Gap to try on some summer dresses only to find them GONE. Everything is fall, (and the color scheme seems to be shades of dryer lint grey. Blech!).

You could try listing the nicer items on BBB swap.

Thank you all very much. After going through an ungodly amount of clothes, I think I'm going to do the dollar sale thing (thanks, Molly) for all the cheap stuff and only bring out the HA, etc., if someone asks. Now that everything's sorted, it'll be a lot easier.

I do wonder what I should list my unused Pikkolo for, though.... Off to check some listings.

    Thanks again!

Oh no, I was just in the market for a Pikkolo and bought one new! How much are you selling it for? I agree with the suggestion to list on BBB swap or the Babywearer FSOT section.
