WtG's thread about meeting her DH on match.com made me think about how met my DH (at a party we both attended with different dates!). So how did you meet your SO?
ETA: if your SO and you went to college together but actually met at a party, select college - this sorta goes chronologically, if you didn't notice already!

I met DH first day of college...well moving in that is. He was roommate with a friend of my roommates during orientation. My roommate was the "it" girl so I just figured DH was like the other guys and wanted a piece of her when he was hanging out with us so much. Boy was I surprised when he told me he was into me.

I voted "mutual friends" but that's not totally accurate. I was friends with his younger sister and she invited me to come to a party that he was throwing at his house because she wanted us to meet. Kinda cool because now my friend is also my sister-in-law!

Started dating the last month of my senior year of h.s. (he was a grade younger). Knew him before that but only really became friends with him in the 2nd half of that year. I asked him to the prom and we have been together ever since. 10 year anniversary this year.

We met in law school and were engaged a couple of months later. Happily married 10 years this summer

My roommate and DH were coworkers and drinking buddies. Roommate's reasoning for making the match was that we were both "really awkward" and nerdy. (He was right on all counts and we got married two years later.)

We met on a website called Christiancafe.com. DH was a college campus minister and some of his girls signed him up without him knowing it. I had just moved to FL and was bored out of my mind not knowing anyone and thought I could play around on one of those dating sites without anyone knowing I had done it.
We talked for 3 mos on email before I'd give him my number. We met in person 2 mos after that (we were 1000+ miles apart) on July 4th. Engaged on New Years Eve. We dated long distance the entire time til we were married on July 5th.

I've posted our unusual story before, but I'm happy to do it again.
DH and I met our freshman year of high school. We were high school sweethearts that broke up our freshman year of college. He joined the Army. I graduated from college and got married and had DS1. I got a divorce. We kept in contact once in a while, especially after 9/11 when I knew he was overseas. He never married.
After not hearing from him for a few years, he emailed me in 2006 and we saw each other in person again for the first time in 15 years. We were married on June 18, 2007, exactly 20 years after our first date.
We could kick ourselves for not finding each other sooner. We are truly soulmates, but I guess it's hard to stick with your soulmate when you meet at 14.
In our 4 years together, we have not been able to live together because of his deployments and being stationed in NC. In less than 6 weeks, he retires and we will be a normal family living under the same roof. I am so excited I can't see straight.DS1 age 21 years

DH & i met online thru a dating site that was like match.com but was for Boston-area students/alums. i was a grad student, he was an alum of same university. we knew we wanted to get married within months of meeting each other, but waited a while bc i wanted to finish graduate school. we've been together for 5 years, married for almost 3.
