Default Bugaboo Cameleon vs Bee? Cameleon and buy the Bee?

I currently own a Bugaboo Cameleon and am debating on whether to sell it and purchase the Bee instead.

I love my Cam, was thinking about getting a Maclaren umbrella stroller for quick errands. But a friend suggested that I sell my Cam and buy a Bee because a Bee is a nice in-between stroller.

I'm very indecisive so I would love to hear your input. If you own either stroller, or both, I would love to hear what you think about this? Pros and cons, why you decided to go with the one you have (Cam or Bee) etc.

Thanks moms, you're always so helpful.

I have both, and use both. The Bee+ was wonderful on our latest trip (6 weeks, and we got the Bee+ especially for the trip), and easy for in and out of the car. But I find the Cam a bit cosier for my still-small baby, and have been using it for neighbourhood walks and longer outings.

I drive a Bugaboo Cameleon, a Bugaboo Bee+ (2010) and a Mutsy Urban Rider. Ooops, and a Chariot CX2, too! Oh, and a purple Starck Maclaren And oh, wait, I have *another* Bee+ (2011). How did I get six strollers?? Uh-oh, there's a P&T Dash in my living room - who put that there?

If you walk outdoors a lot I'd keep the Cam. I have a Vista and will be purchasing a Bee as our car stroller for our next DC, DH may freak but I'm keeping both! .

I agree with Mamabear, the type of seat of the Cam and Vista is super cozy for babies, DS took 2 hour naps in it, he still loves it at 2.5 yo.

I have both, and agree with pps. The cam is nicer for a little baby and better outdoors but the bee is great for traveling and in the car and pushes nicely outside as well. So it depends how and where you would be using it.

Depends on where you live. If you're a city where you walk a lot then I would keep the cam and get a Maclaren Quest (don't get the volo--theres not much to it for a $130 stroller imo) for the car/traveling. If you're in the suburbs then I would get the bee and sell the Cam, or even just get a higher end Maclaren.

We have the cam and quest for city use and think it's the perfect combo for us. Good Luck with your decision!

I have the Bee Plus and currently use it as my one and only stroller in NYC. I never had a Cam and can't comment on how much nicer or comfier it is than the Bee. DS is not yet 4 months old and he sleeps comfortably in the Bee, the seat reclines pretty flat and cradles his little body well enough.

I also have I'coo Pacific, which is comparable to Vista. I wouldn't compare it to Cam because it doesn't have front wheel suspension. Vista has a stiff suspension and stiffer ride than the Cam, so is the I'coo. The seat on the I'coo is more similar to Vista as it has the adjustable leg rest and huge canopy and sits a bit higher off the ground, but DS didn't like it actually after being used to the Bee. I think he likes open feel of the Bee seat as it allows him to look around while laying down.

I took the I'coo for a walk lately and it felt huge and heavy compared to the Bee. The Bee is so easy to push and easier on you for the long walks as well.

I'd say buy the Bee and keep both for now. See if you like using both of them or if you end up preferring the smaller stroller. I am more of a compact stroller person and after getting the Bee started to prefer it every time and haven't used my big stroller and will sell it soon.

I would think as far as bumps are concerned the Cam should be much better as it has adjustable suspension and big wheels. So, it's whatever you feel comfortable with. I find having a Bee gives me more freedom of movement around NYC and an option to take PT and go to any tiny place I want without having to park my stroller at the front, I cannot do this with the I'coo or Cam. (both have same footprint)

I think if I had a Cam I might have kept it ONLY if the difference in the quality of the ride would be so significant that Cam would be like an all-terrain stroller (something Bee cannot qualify for) and would take me over really rough sidewalks, cobblestones, broken brick, dirt paths and snow like rolling on air. But again, my storage space is very limited. Both strollers are now parked in my living room and it's driving me nuts.

Mamabear, is Cam so much smoother and easier to push than the Bee? Can it handle snow or sand?

The Bee+ has the usual amazing Bugaboo push But cobblestones aren't its forte (the steep cobbled hill up to Nuremburg Castle had me crying for my air-tire strollers!), nor is pea gravel (at a local playground). With suspension on all four wheels, though, it is pretty incredible.

We've used the Cam on both sand and snow. We bought the snow tires, which really do make a difference in significant snow. Otherwise, I pushed with the big wheels in front. For sand, it of course does better on packed sand than loose, but again, with the big wheels in front it did well enough in most circumstances. I've often thought the snow tires would be good for the beach, too.

I bought the Bee+ thinking it would be my one and only.

    Not so much.

I take longish walks over sidewalks in bad shape, and I ended up buying a Bob Rev on CL. The Bee is awesome in malls and on very smooth terrain. I bought it just to have a lightweight reversible. It's awesome for the car and quick errands. It's not good on bumpy terrain. I'm not looking forward to using it in the snow.

I'm still glad I have it--vacationing this summer, it was so nice to interact with her on all the random family trips (museums, window shopping, exhibitions, etc), but I'm also very happy to have a sturdier stroller for long walks.

Thank you so much for all your input. We went into a store and compared our Cameleon to the Bee on display.

I absolutely love the Bee, but my husband pointed out that we need the big back wheels of the Cameleon for the place we are moving to where sidewalks are about a foot above ground and cobblestones, gravel, etc everywhere.

I love the comfort that the Cams provide, its just too bad its so bulky and a hassle to get in and out of the trunk. I know for sure we wont be selling our Cameleon for the Bee, I guess I'm back to looking at umbrella strollers. Sigh. Is there an end to this?
