Default anyone wash swimsuits in the washing machine?

DD is going to be in a swimsuit a lot this summer. We have a newer top loading washing machine with a handwash cycle. Has anyone had good results (clean suit, not damaged) using this cycle on a top loader? I was thinking I would also put it in a mesh bag. Also, anyone wash their own swimsuit this way?

TIA. I hate washing things in the sink!

I do. I just make sure I hang dry. Never had issues before.

Yah, all the time. We use a front-loader and IMO it's more gentle than handwashing.

Yup, I do it all the time. I have a front-loader now, but used to do it with my own in a top-loader. Like pp, I make sure to air dry. I think that's where the damage typically comes in.

Yes, I do. I do have a front load machine but I also put them in a mesh bag so they don't snag/tangle with anything else. I line dry as well.

I, uh ... I kinda stick 'em in the drier, too. Is that bad?

If you could still wear it and fits the same after you dry them, I don't think it's bad.

    Your comment made me smile.

I think swimsuits in the washer/dryer is kind of like bras in the washer/dryer..... it'll make your life easier but shorten the life of the garment. It's just a matter of which is more important to you. I'd rather buy a new suit a month earlier rather than deal with handwashing multiple times per week, personally.

If you mean boy's swim trunks, then I think that's different, I would put those in the dryer. But I won't put DD's or mine. I think the elastic would get shot pretty quick or the material would stretch out faster or both. But if it works for you, then that's all that matters. I have a two piece black suit that I love and I want to make it last as long as possible!
