DS has the Hemnes twin bed in black-brown and the matching 6 drawer dresser. Like the pp poster, I am considering stealing the dresser for dh to use in our bedroom and replacing his with a 3 drawer Hemnes. DD also has a 3 drawer white Hemnes dresser in her room. All of the pieces have held up really well. DS's set is now 3 years old.

We have a lot of this line! In our room we have the bed, tall 6 drawer dresser, wide 8 drawer dresser, and nightstands. The rest of our house is all hemnes and leksvik. Everything has held up great and we have had it for 6 or 7 years.

We have the tall 6 drawer dresser in white in our master bedroom and it still looks brand new after 6+ years. I want to get the whole Hemnes tv system of cabinets and shelves.

I'm planning to get the low big dresser for the baby's room so I can use it as a changing table. My sister has the taller dresser for her girls and she likes it. I plan on changing out the knobs but otherwise ive heard nothing but great reviews on it.

We have 2 of the large white dressers. Love them. Same quality as you find at most mass market furniture stores, for much less. Putting together is a bit of a pain. With both, we had major defects in one piece, so I brought the specific piece in and they replaced it. Also, when moving, both held up well, but one got a small chip in the finish that I still need to touch up (the finish can chip, but I think it would take a lot to make that happen).

I have the black-brown and I really like it. Holds a ton. Draw glides are both easy and sturdy. Does not look like an ikea item actually - - it looks more expensive.

I think the white will show more knicks and water staining. I noticed that on the showroom floor. That said, for the price . . .

I am personally very interested in getting the one that is currently grey-washed and painting or spray-painting. Normally I am not up for this sort of thing but I think it would be easy because it would only be unassembled fronts. I think that (or the plain white or black-brown) with novelty door knobs are super-cute in kids room.

Anyone up for a "Pimp Your Hemnes" thread?!

DD#1 did this to her Hemnes nightstand with waterproof/tattoo bandaids.

I don't recommend that approach -- it removes the paint in chips.

Well, I figure my Hemnes is unlikely to be seen in the same room with their Hemnes.

I really don't see why having the same furniture is an issue, more so than say owning the same highly rated coffeemaker or frying pan?

Ha! I bought some pink, glass knobs at Homegoods and will be putting them on soon. You can totally change up the look with different knobs (although the ones that come with are fine).

We have both the tall one and the long 6 drawer ones in our room. I love them...my only complaint is that they are in the antique stain...that is no longer offered. BOO.

We would have gotten them for the boys but I felt the brown/black was too dark and the white was too girly. I think they have colors too but I prefer the more classic. We went with I think the MALM for them and that is working pretty well I think.
