Ornament Hooks....all tangled

How is it that every year my ornament hooks end up in a huge wad...all tangled together. What the heck is going on in that box in the basement?

There has to be a better way to store these things so I don't have to spend an hour each year undoing them!

I just shake the big wad until they fall off. I prefer the green plastic ones that I got a few years ago at Target (and cannot find a picture of to save my life), but they don't work for all ornaments (like Hallmark ones). I feel your pain, though - you wouldn't believe how long it took us to untangle 6-7 strands of beads. We haven't used them in a couple of years, and there must have been some kind of bead party going on in that storage box.
