Default Rear facing and snowy feet?

DS is 2 and is still RF. With snow here, he gets snow in his car seat from his shoes melting. The poor guy has wet pants from the melted snow soaking into his seat. How do you avoid getting snow everywhere?

I take their boots off in the car. When I drove the Malibu, they all went under the RFing seat. Now, in the minivan, they stay by the door and they go in socks to their seats.

I usually try to sort of "shovel" ds in so that his boots don't actually touch the part of the seat that he sits on.

If you have the carseat installed in the center, then the easiest thing is probably to put a towel on the seat where you load him in and have him wipe off his feet before climbing into the seat. (Ours is outboard so this doesn't really work for us, unfortunately.)

Hmm...since DS just started walking a few months ago we still carry him from the house to the car...but I imagine this will be an issue soon for us. Thanks for the ideas!
