Default Is there a food you WISH you liked?

For me it's mushrooms. I absolutely cannot stand them, but cooking would be so much easier if I could at least tolerate them. There are so many recipes out there I have to tweek or improvise because they call for mushrooms or cream of mushroom soup. Sigh...

omg, when i saw the title of this thread (before i opened it), "mushrooms" was the FIRST thing that came to mind as well! i really really really wish i liked them, but i just can't stand them at all. i hate the texture, the smell, everything. and yeah, it sucks because a lot of common dishes in restaurants etc have them, or a lot of recipes call for cream of mushroom soup, so yeah that leaves a lot of stuff out. i hate how it's almost always in pizza. at wedding receptions (including my own!) a lot of times they only have 2 things for hor d oeuvres and one of them is stuffed mushrooms (argh!). it's bad bc it's one of those things that everyone (adults at least) are assumed to like so they're always in everything (pizza, omelettes, etc).

For me, it's onions, peppers, and tomatoes. I've gotten more tolerant of cooked onions and I like things like pasta sauce/pizza sauce. But I really cannot stand red, green or yellow peppers, raw onions, raw/chunky tomatoes. My husband's family is italian, so makes life interesting.

I love mushrooms, asparagus, brussel sprouts - all kinds of things that they aren't necessarily into, but for some reason have just never really liked onions, peppers, and tomatoes.

Bananas and tuna would probably make things easier. But I cannot STAND either one. I can usually taste the banana in a smoothie with loads of other stuff in it.

I can tolerate mushrooms. I kind of eat around them or pick off at least half.

Mushrooms, tuna and other seafood. I hate the texture of 99% of seafood. Mushrooms- I just don't dig the flavor. Same with tuna.

Probably tomatoes. I like marinara sauce, and I love me some ketchup, but I cannot stand fresh tomato or chunks of tomato in a cooked meal.

    Vegetables.

I'm not a huge fan of vegetables. I'll tolerate a few. I think my New Year's resolution will be to lead a healthier lifestyle. Pre-pregnancy and when I was pregnant, I ate very well-balanced diet and exercised a lot. I just need to get back to that mindset.

Pretzels, coconut, or saltines. Can't stand any of them. Saltines are a stomach flu staple but I just can't tolerate them (or oyster crackers which are pretty much mini saltines). And I'd like to be able to explore more Thai and Indian food but coconut milk is a common ingredient.

The two things I really really dislike are olives and goat cheese. I really wish I liked them because they often show up in things when I'm not expecting them.

Olives- just don't like em. But they show do show up a lot don't they? Poor DD wants to put them on her fingers and eat them off like her cousin, but she can't stand the taste either and ends up spitting them out.
