    Default S/O Your Unhealthy Habits

Does anyone have any habits they know are bad for them but they do it anyway?

Mine is tanning. I just started going this year and I just love it. I know it raises my cancer risk and going to make me look old but I can't help myself. Its sooo peaceful to lay in that warm tube of sunshine and be left alone for 20 minutes.

Anyone else have a guilty pleasure?

    I don't exercise like I should.

    I ignore my diabetes.

    I stay up too late.

    1. I stay up WAY too late, so never get enough sleep.

    2. I don't exercise enough.

    3. I haven't been watching my diet

    4. 2 & 3 means I've put on 8 lbs rather than lose last 8lbs to go.

I have given up coffee - well, now just one a day. I'm back in voice therapy as I'm in pre-req program to do MS to be SLP, and I want to make sure voice strong enough after complications due to thyroid surgery 3 years ago. I was told again to stop drinking so much coffee, it's too dehydrating. So I gave it a trial, 4 days no coffee, and tons of water, and my voice is so much clearer. I can drink tea, but again not too much. So that's one vice gone. My professor said that she tells everyone to cut back on the coffee and increase water, but they don't. I want to get into this program and her saying "my voice is OK" will go a long way, so no coffee it is.

I eat too many brownies and similar treats. Seriously, it is terrible. I have become better at this, and due to exercise and less sugary snacks.

Periodically I will fall off the coke free wagon and back into my old habit of slurping huge full sugar glasses of delicious carmel flavor flavored crack. It is never just one, if I have one I have several over a few days, but then I force myself to stop again. I don't drag my rear out bed at 5am to work out 4 days a week at bootcamp for an hour and skate 5 or more hours a week plus do many ore hours of walking, runing, yoga etc so I can sabotage myself with tasty tasty crack water. What can I say? You are never a recovered coke addict, you are are recovering addict for the rest of your life. Working hard to stay on the wagon.

Bacon egg and cheese sandwiches are something I will never give up and will gladly run an extra hour to make up for indulging in.

    I abuse caffeine.

Too much diet soda, but I have cut back since college. I even pop Excedrin sometimes just for the caffeine. (I don't overdose on it, though. I'm cautious about the aceteminephin content.)

This is me. It's killing me and I think it is starting to age me. I keep telling myself I will stop when I finish my dissertation but really it is not like I am staying up late only to write. I just like it, except for when the morning comes.

Lots of coffee (well, usually at least 2, sometimes 3 cups a day)
    Not drinking enough water
Not exercising as much as I should
cheez-its (why I like these processed fake cheese crackers, I don't know)
drinking more wine than I should (for weight loss reasons, not because I drink too much for drunkenness reasons) I always feel like I have to lie at the dr when they ask how many drinks you have per week...

But, I don't smoke, I'm not obese, I do exercise some (even if not enough), I make time for myself when I can, I eat lots of fresh veggies and fruit and avoid most processed foods (cheez-its excepted), so all in all I think I'm doing ok.

Coffee. 2-3 cups is a LIGHT day for me.

    Soda. One a day.

Beer. One every night with dinner. It's beer or anti anxiety meds and right now I choose beer.

If treats are in the house I eat them. If they are not there, I don't miss it though.

I guess I have a beverage issue. Otherwise I eat fairly healthily and exercise hard 4-5 days a week.

I am not answering this unless you add an anonymous poll.
