Default How do you feel about T-Strap shoes / sandals for little boys?

I think T-Strap style shoes & sandals are adorable for boys or girls, but I'm not sure how "acceptable" they are for boys in this country. I see a lot of european brands make this style for boys, so I am thinking they are more common/popular overseas.

What do you think? Do you like them? Would you think it was odd to see a little boy in shoes like these? Does the color make a difference?

Here are some examples from the Pablosky boys line. These go from infant/toddler 5 through big kids/youth 6.

I wouldn't be surprised to see boys 2 and under wearing something like that, but I'm not sure about older little boys.

I actually wouldn't even call shoes like that sandals. Is that what "T-strap" sandals means? I have seen that term here before but never really knew what it meant.

Very cute, but I'd say they'd be best for the 3 & under crowd. Once kids get into preschool, they start noticing, commenting on and teasing each other about what other kids are wearing. Sad but true. 4 year old pre-k has been tough on DD, whose bestie decided pink was OUT this year. Cute shoes though.

Cute for a boy under age 2. BTW, I don't consider those sandals. I consider those T strap shoes (sandals would have open toes). Anyway, I feel those are acceptable for young toddlers. I would think it odd for a child over age 2 to wear those though.

Thanks guys, for weighing in. My son is 1.5, so I guess he'll be in the acceptable range through the summer at least. I thought the canvas one would be nice for summer months--a little lighter than a full sneak, but with full foot protection/stability.

I do find it pretty odd that they go up to youth size 6. That seems rather old to be wearing cutesy shoes. Oh yeah--and that they make jelly shoes for boys!

I think they are adorable, and unlike PP's I think preschoolers can get away with them. I don't think they are much different than fisherman sandals. I have a 3 yo and I don't think any boy in his preschool really cares what the other kids wear.

I would put all but the 3rd pair on my 3 year old, though I think they'd be even cuter w/rompers, which DS doesn't wear anymore (potty trained). I think the 2nd pair in particular looks a lot like fisherman sandals. I'd definitely go for it w/ a toddler!

DS had some similar shoes (blue) last summer, and one of his teachers commented that they were girls shoes. That kind of irked me. They were great.

I put these on my son (in navy blue) when he was 2 or 3:

and we also had these in lt. brown:

The interesting thing was that, with the navy ones, we may have gotten a comment or two about them being "girly" but never got that reaction with the same exact shoe in woven (and brown).

We also have these in brown for a 2YO and have never gotten a funny glance

I love T straps for boys, even not so little boys, and always wanted these for my guys. Not sure exactly why, but these seem more "manly" than the bear feet ones, kinda like the ones OP linked:
