Default Super 8 (the movie) by JJ Abrams

    Anybody has seen it?

    Is it good?

And...how "scary" is it? I, *cough*, can't handle scary/horror movies. I scared the heck of my companions during the 6th Sense.

I'm wanting to know, too!! (I had to watch 6th Sense on DVD, in the daytime, with all the lights on. And I was still freaked out.)

I kind of want to see it b/c Kyle Chander (Coach from Friday Night Lights) is in it - I feel like he could keep me safe!!!

People Magazine gave it 4.5 stars. I am probably going to see it on the 25th. I love JJ Abrams (less not so enthuased about what he did with Star Trek) and the addition of Kyle Chandler makes it a must see in my book!

It didn't get stellar reviews in the LA Times. The reviewer said Abrams' and Spielberg's styles were not exactly compatible, and that hurt the movie.

I admit...I had to google who Kyle Chandler was ...but I found out that he grew up about 10 minutes from where we live now!

or even go and find Early Edition from the early to mid 1990s. Don't start watching FNL now though on NBC because there are only a few weeks left in the series. All of the prior seasons are available on Instant Play on Netflix.

I actually "knew" him from his role in Early Edition awhile ago...remember liking the show then.

I'm not a big movie person, but after reading some reviews online, I'm really tempted to go see Super 8!

Oh yah, don't start now on regular tv. Definitely Netflix or the like.

I came in a few seasons late, and I always wanted to watch right from the beginning.

OK. I just saw it this morning. It was great!!!! They don't make movies like this anymore...very reminiscent of ET/Goonies/Close Encounters.

It was full of suspense but not scary or gorey. The child actors were great!!!

The trailer does not capture how good the movie is. I actually was not that into seeing it, but DH heard it had good reviews. And it had Spielberg producing, so we we went.

    Go see it!
