Hotel Suggestion in/near Mystic

ideas please! Nothing overly pricey (granted that depends on the date!) - and i don't need to be IN Mystic - nearby is good! We did stay @ Best Western turned Ramada and don't want to do that again. It's one night, maybe 2.

Yes, pricing definitely depends on the date. DH spent the night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Groton when he did a sleep study and said it was nice - it's just a few years old. The IL's are staying there when they come for DS's birthday and got a rate of $149/night for a long weekend in August. I would guess it would be between 10-15 minutes from there to the touristy stuff in Mystic.

We stayed at the Hilton right across the street from the Aquarium when we were househunting and liked it - it was definitely convenient but I imagine the rates are pretty high in the summer.
