I am taking a friend with me to costco and she does not have a membership...I don't know how much she will spend but they are a family of 6. Do I just pay for her items with my amex and then have her pay me??? Can she use her own amex with my card?

She either has to do cash or you have to pay for it.

I think you could buy her a gift card (that she pays you for) then she can check out with that. You don't have to be a member to use it.

Actually just have them subtotal when you are checking out and she can pay for her own. I used to do it for a friend and my parents all the time.
She can use your membership card and then pay for her own order using her debit card with her pin not with credit where she has to sign. I have done this quite a few times with family members.
Or she could go to the membership desk and get a one time, one day temp pass.
My Costco no longer allows the subtotal with two payers unless both have cards.
I would either do the temp card thing, the gift card or pay for her and have her pay you back if you know you have enough room on your Amex and she will pay you instantly.

My Costco does not allow non-members to pay. I take my mom a lot and she ALWAYS tries and I don't think they've ever allowed it.
It is probably a toss up whether yours will allow it or not.
My friend buys me gift cards and I pay with my own debit card all the time.

At my costco only the member can pay...even with cash.
I would be prepared to pay then have your friend pay you back.
