Update #2:
Mimi is doing VERY well today! She's being downgraded and moved from the ICU into a regular room!!! BP is back closer to where it should be, hydration is great, and she's responding very very well to the antibiotics.
They believe that the mass on her kidney is now a stone of some sort, but not the kind that you can pass (my mom was a little unclear on this matter) so they may wind up keeping her on the antibiotics for longer than usual to be sure that nothing else develops and then giving her something that would help "break up" the stone.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
The BBB is a wonderful, powerful source of positive energy. I am so grateful.
Update:
I just got home a bit ago from visiting Mimi in the ICU. Her color and temperature are both improved from yesterday, as is her hydration level. BP is rising a bit, but not as much as the doctors would like just yet. Cardiologist says her heart function is very good (yay!).
She had a CT scan today as well, and they noticed a lesion on her lung (the same as in November, no change in size or location) as well as something on her kidney, which is what they believe is the source of the sepsis.
Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I really do believe in the power of the BBB... we have so much to look forward to in the next year - my younger brother got engaged over Labor Day, and they've set a date for next October. I would love for my special Mimi to be able to see her youngest grandchild get married to his beautiful bride.
Thanks again.
My grandmother (Mimi) is currently in the ICU with sepsis.
She just turned 94, but we're really not ready to be without her just yet.
Any prayers and/or positive thoughts that you could send her way would be greatly appreciated.
TIA.
