Veterinarian or obstetrician. Then just OB since I'm allergic to dogs, cats, and horses! I've always wanted to deliver babies and have always had an interest in pregnancy.

Then I found out you had to be a natural born citizen and my bubble was burst.

The first thing I wanted to be "when I grew up" was a gymnast. (I saw a dreadful made-for-TV movie about Nadia Comaneci and loved it.)

Then, I wanted to be a paleontologist. (Until my mother convinced me that I needed to make money ... *sigh* ... I'd have been perfectly happy pursuing a thankless career in academia and learning how to squat in the woods during expedition season.)

Then, I wanted to be a doctor, but after taking Honors Bio my Freshman year of high school and nearly failing because I didn't work as hard as I ought to have (as it had been my experience in school up to this point that I could goof around and still get A's & B's with little-to-no effort) I figured I didn't have the type of academic skills I needed to succeed in a pre-med/medical school environment.

After that, I kind of lost the desire to figure out what I'd become when I grew up.
