Default Did you offer a vegetarian option at your wedding?

Since there has been discussion of whether or not it is okay to request a vegetarian or vegan meal at a wedding, I wonder how many people have offered a choice to their vegetarian/vegan guests.

Our wedding reception in the US was entirely vegetarian with lots of vegan options. It was made by a local caterer in Maryland. Not a very big reception - about 60 people since most of my husband's family is not in the US.

No vegetarian options. Non alcoholic sparkling drink was available for my Baptist/pregnant friends, but no other special dietary things at all. I had a small wedding over 14 years ago, in the MidWest. As far as I know there were no vegetarians present. I am certain none of my friends were and also that none of dh's relatives were and 99 percent certain none of my relatives were either. I suppose there is a slim chance one of my cousins had become vegetarian at some point in between the last family meal we had with him or her and my wedding and we didn't know it, but I think it very unlikely.

Our reception hall included a vegetarian option automatically, we did not have to specifically choose one.

There was a veg plate offered but only one person asked for it. We served a lot of filet mignon that night.

yes, we did. we did have a few friends (like 2 or 3) that we knew were vegetarian, so that was the reason. the caterer we chose also told us there were veggie options. i can't remember but i think we did have it as an option on the invitation rsvp (e.g. check chicken, fish, or vegetarian). we had kids' meals too.

if werent for those friends, we probably wouldn't have offered an veggie option..no one in either of our families that we knew of was vegetarian. i don't know WHAT we would have done if someone was vegan and asked about dietary options... we had our wedding in Texas in a city that was very Mexican-influenced..i think many places there understand vegetarian but they don't "get" vegan, KWIM? sorta like how in Big Fat Greek Wedding, her family doesn't understand that her (non Greek) fiance/husband is vegetarian, and the aunt goes "That's ok. I give you lamb." LOL

Yes, we had vegetarian options but not vegan ones other than salad. That was 12 years ago and back then I didn't know any vegans.
