Default Help me find tops to wear with leggings

The title pretty much says it all. I somehow missed the leggings trend, and now I'm thinking I'd enjoy the comfort! I am wanting to wear cute boots and hate stuffing my boot-cut jeans into them (all attempts to find skinny jeans that look decent on me have completely failed).

I look really bad in tunics or loose tops that aren't belted, because I'm short and look better in things that are more fitted or at least cinched in the middle.

So what can I try with leggings? I ran through Gap quickly yesterday and saw nothing and also looked on Banana Republic's site and came up empty. I would love to get something cute and comfy for T-giving. We are hosting, and it will be casual, but I'd still like to look and feel good.

I have these adorable wedge booties from Aerosole that are begging to be worn. : ) http://www.aerosoles.com/product1.asp?P=DATEPLUM
Let's hope I don't kill myself in 3 inch wedges. I've been wearing flat shoes much of the past 10 years!

How about a sweater dress? I posted in the Thanksgiving thread that I actually picked up a sweatshirt dress at Target. It's fitted, cowl neck but it has pockets like a sweatshirt and just cute and comfy! I think it is Missoni. I have a nice sweater dress one that is from Target' Converse One Star too,

Boden has a lot of cute tunics.

For sweater dresses, other posters (i think Elektra and others) said that Loft has cute ones for good prices.

I like leggings best over dresses - they're perfect for dresses that are a little shorter than what I would feel comfortable wearing with bare legs or tights. I haven't found regular tops that I would feel comfortable wearing with leggings: for those I feel skinny jeans make me feel dressed but leggings with a shirt make me feel like I need to put on some pants.

Old Navy dresses run short but often make great tunics IMO. Boden also has cute tunics.

Thanks. I actually have two sweater dresses that I love. But both work fine with tights (they aren't all that short). I think leggings would be too bulky under them.

I can try Old Navy for dresses that would work as tunics.

I also have the Boden catalog--I can check that out (though not for T-giving this year, of course). Do Boden's tops work for short women (I am 5'2")?

ETA: And yes, I agree, that the tunic/dress would have to be reasonably long for me to comfortable wearing it with leggings.
