oh no! I plan on putting our elf in the bins that hold our other christmas decorations.

the attic, crawlspace?, under a bed? on a top shelf in a closet in the guest bedroom?

If all else fails, maybe Jake could leave a note for the first day to buy you sometime....perhaps there was a mishap at Santa's workshop or he is helping train new elves this first week?

Sorry but your post made me laugh. Poor Jake is MIA.

Could someone or a pet found him and put him somewhere else? What about on top of the fridge?

Top of fridge was actually one of the first places I looked! Nope.
Nor is Jake in either boys' little-used dresser drawers, in their closets or under their beds.
He's not in my closet, or my or DH's dresser.
He's not with the Christmas crap.
    He's not in the attic.
    He's not in the basement.
And I KNOW he's not in the garage, since we stopped storing things that mice could like in there.

I like the idea of a "workshop emergency" letter... and I just then have to remember to stop off at Barnes and Noble and buy ANOTHER fracking elf!

Do you have somewhere that you keep other wrapping/holiday things? Sometimes I keep odds & ends in with my stationary & wrapping paper/tape/crafts, just because I have no idea where else to keep it.

Best of luck finding it. Sending lots of PT your way!!!!

OMG I hope he turns up!! We just moved and I had to go move around about 30 boxes to find the one that's NOT red but marked "christmas" on the TOP which you can't see when covered with other boxes, to locate our friend Elfie. Yeesh, I must get him now...

Good luck, I hope Jake's back from his tropical vacation... you could have him send a post card...

Hope you find him....SO glad you posted this. I totally forgot! I got lucky and was able to dig him out pretty easily which is amazing considering what a wreck our storage room is.
