I voted other. We have mortgage and student loan debt, and the student loan is way over $10,000, as it probably is for many. I think I asked a similar question a year or so ago; I'll search. eta: http://windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/sho...highlight=debt

Advice and commentary on living overseas

I wanted to pay cash for our car, and could have, but the interest rate is so low that we took a 3 year loan. I frequently think about writing a check out and being done. That + mortgage.

Mortgage, car and Dh's student loans. We use credit cards a lot but pay them off every month.

Mortgage only. I don't plan to buy another car until we can pay for it in cash.

We have a mortgage and an auto loan, but we could pay off the auto loan in cash today. I really don't know why DH insisted on taking out a loan. Normally it would make sense, but right now nothing is earning more than the interest rate on the loan (i.e. we can't make more money by investing the cash elsewhere and holding on to the loan). But whatever.
Our house has lost $300,000 in value, and we're stuck with a high interest rate. Real estate sucks.
But we're among the lucky ones. We have more than sufficient cash on hand as well as well-funded retirement and college funds. So I really can't complain even though I want to.

No CC debt, car about to be paid off (and I never intend to have another auto loan), small mortgage, but I'm drowning in debt from my MBA.

Absolutely NO debt! We rent so no mortgage! Thank you Dave Ramsey! That being said, DH drives a crappy car, we have never been on a family vacation, we live in the smallest house in the neighborhood, and we have never had a big screen TV. Guess what...it is SO worth it!
We do have a mortgage and a few other business related loans. No car loans, no CC debt, no student loans anymore. But we have a positive net worth, so we aren't "in debt" so to speak. So I picked "other".
