We're down to one student loan and that's it.

Mortgage and my student loan from law school. I will pay off my car in the next payment, we choose to keep the cash in the bank and finance the car and try to pay it off as soon as possible. My next payment will be 19th and last.

Both DH and I use CC for daily expenses, but these are always paid off in full each month.

DH new job entails 50% paycut for the 1st year, so we are on a very tight budget right now.

right now we only have mortgage debt. We are however putting the equivalent of a car payment in our savings account every month until we buy a new car sometime in the next 12 to 18 months.

We pay off our credit cards each month.

    This exactly.

And I agree with PP that we are more comfortable with mortgage debt and greater liquid assets.

Too much debt! Mortgage, kitchen, student loans. Remind me again why we decided to go for graduate degrees?

We have two mortgages worth of student loan debt, but no mortgage and no car debt.
