Default What is this?? I have weird rash around my mouth!

It started when I was working on homework with Gator last night. I noticed I was scratching my neck a lot and started to feel little bumps all over it. When I finally got to bed last night I noticed it had spread up and just over my chin. Today it is all around my mouth. There is no color to it and DH couldn't even see it. But I feel the tiny little bumps. They kind of feel like sandpaper. And they itch. It's weird because I' haven't had a rash in YEARS particulary since I take zyrtec for allergies daily. And I took a little Benedryl before I went to bed hoping that would clear it up.

But nope, it's still there this morning. It really could be anything. I tried some new lotion yesterday (that yummy coconut lime organic lotion stick from Bubble and Bee). I took Gator to the pool yesterday and could have picked up something on myself or clothes in the pool area or dressing rooms. I was wearing a new shirt the day before that hadn't been washed yet (and i didn't have time to shower yesterday). It really could be something in the environment.

My face is not red but is a bit puffy. When I press on it there is a white mark like skin does that is swollen. And it itches.

Any guesses as to what this could be?

    Might be the lotion?

I had something similar. Once, my lips were a bit swollen....almost like I had collagen injections and it kind of tingled/itched...there might have been some bumps too. I thought it was the new toothpaste so stopped using that but still had sexy swollen lips for a week....then I figured out it was DH's chapstick that I was using. I thought I had used it before, but I guess I hadn't....or maybe something changed.

Not sure what it is, but I would use benadryl cream (or generic) on it. The cream is awesome and doen't cause drowsiness. I use it daily, for my myriad mystery rashes, bumps and hives.

My guess is ypu're allergic to something in the lotion. I get that sandpaper rash when i put something like the sunscreens i know i'm allergic to on my skin. I'd wash w/ soap and water, put a tin layer of hydrocortisne on it and maybe aquaphor if it gets dry and cracked like my skin does when irritated.

Ugh, I think it is the new lotion stick. It smells delicious, is organic and moisturizez well but it has sweet almond oil in it. I AM ALLERGIC to almonds!!! I could cry. I just got that stick and was so excited to use it. How did I not see that ingredient. Sigh.

Well, I highly recommend it for those not allergic to almond oil.

Oh boy, those things are easy to miss. I'm paranoid of nuts in lotions and lipbalms b/c of DS's allergy.
