That sounds really good. I think in one of the comments someone did that but with strawberry jam. I think your strawberry filling sounds better

One of the comments said that not beating the eggs like that results in a much denser cake. I've only made it once and I made sure to beat for 5 minutes so I haven't tested this out yet.
