    Default Carseats of 1990

I know it's obscure and completely weird, but can anyone point me to photos of popular carseats that would have been standard in 1990, give or take one year (no more)? I'm not buying one . It's for research.

Yes, I googled. Not clear to me which fit the bill.

Click on each style of seat and you'll get each brand and the seats they've made and which years they made each model...the one's from the 90's stand out for their lovely pastel or primary color patterns (and three point harnesses).

My sister's infant seat from 1987 (but i believe was actually made in the early 80s) was actually very close to Graco Century 565 seat, which is on page 8 of the rear facing only seat chart. Her convetible car seat which she was in until around late 1990 was very similar to that one too but sat on a higher base, and I believe it might have had an overhead bar, although I know I think they got rid of overhead bars on carseats way before they got rid of them in backless booster seats. She moved to a booster seat when she was 3 in 1990/1991, but she didn't stay in one long as she was over 40lbs then.

My oldest was born in 1991. I remember the infant carseat was very much like a bucket. It had a 3-point harness, but it was literally made of plastic like a bucket and the setbelt went over it. It would sort of collapse in on itself in a crash I guess.

Next we went to the overhead shield seat. That was so easy to use!

and then the booster was also an overhead shield thing. Kid slide into it from the side and clicked the shield into place. So easy!

I wish I could find pics of them for you. I know I have a pic of the overhead shield but it's somewhere in a box.

that Fisher Price T-Shield is typical of the early 90s. It's exactly what I had in 1991-92

and this is the baby bucket I was talking about. 1991.

Since I can't see the pics in the pictorial, I decided to search the web for photos of v ery old car seats. How about this one, in the FRONT SEAT?

If anyone has a way to see those photos from the car-seat.org pictorial, please let me know. Now I'm curious too!
