    Default Decision, decision

We're trying to decide on the furniture for our 1st. We're debating in between Echelon Diya and Romina Cleopatra. They both look nice but my husband was annoyed with the sales person who kept saying that Echelon is solid wood when the drawers were obviously made of some plywood or something; I see that Echelon is not rated in BB book so do you have any suggestions? Thanks

I once had a salesman tell me that the furniture he was selling was 'genuine wood veneer'
    DD - barely 5
    DS - almost 3

Romina is beautiful quality, but honestly, after knowing what I know now, I don't think I would want to spend that kind of money on the furniture. Nursery furniture takes a pretty good beating and my tastes have already started to change and DD isn't quite 2 yet - I can't see myself keeping the nursery furniture that we do have for years and years. So, I would try to find the best balance between price and quality and go with that. Not sure if that helps or not!

    Default Is painting an option?

I was thinking of getting a dresser/ changing table from a Bald Furniture place and painting it either a color to blend with the crib, or paint both pieces. But I don't know about the finish on the cribs, and whether they will take paint.

I am not saying that the OP should go this route; I was just wondering for people who already have furniture if I am being unrealistic, and even if they would consider painting baby furniture after having it for a while.

Thanks for the info. I think I got just the crib and then I might add a chest or something later on, well see how the furniture holds up...

I was also interested in Romina and Echelon along with a couple of others. I could not find any stores around me that carried Romina and was uncomfortable ordering without seeing anything from this manufacturer. However, at USA Babies I was able to see the Diya. It is beautiful and appeared to be best quality in the store. I was looking at cribs only though. The store had great price on this bed. I ended up ordering the Echelon Sonoma but it hasn't arrived yet. FWIW my first born has a convertible Amish bed that has done beautifully in his almost 3 years. Hoping I'll be able to say the same about this one too.
