    Default H&M toddler clothes

DD is 18 months and approximately 32" tall and 27lbs. We just got 2 different shorts from h&m (size 1 1/2-2yr which is Euro 92) and they are HUGE! They completely fall off when she stands up. So I went back and exchanged them for the next size down (12-18mo Euro size 86) and while they appeared to fit A little better, as she walked they started to fall down! Even if they shrink, I am not sure it will be enough. I was also told by their sales staff that since they are European, the sizing tends to run small. I am baffled?! She is already wearing 2t in other brands.

I also got a tank and tshirts, but I don't mind if they run a little big since she is on the tall side.

Has anyone experienced this with H&M for either bottoms or in general?

I think some of their stuff is so cute and the prices can't be beat. These clothes were a gift and I would really like to get her something instead of returning it.

Their sizes are random. You just have to eyeball them. I never buy ahead so it has not been an issue.

I think their bottoms run big. My girls, who are mostly in 3t, wear 18mos cords from there that fit them great. Tops tend not to be as big. I agree, lots of eyeballing with H&M.

I think all H&M sizing is pretty random. And some of their stuff does shrink, IME.

Good to know. I guess I need to get better at eyeballing.

I washed one of the tops and it already shrunk a bit (even with cold water). But I think I will try to find shorts that have some elastic in them for now. They are fine in length but huge in the waist!

    Much apprecIated!

Shrinking was never an issue for us (I do everything cold, low heat bc I am lazy ). Hope your things work out!

What the others said! Sizing is truly random. I've loved all our kiddie H&M purchases though.

My DD with similar stats can wear the 12-18m leggings in the baby section and the 1.5-2yr dresses in the older section. Still room in the 12-18 month clothes to finish out the summer and I suspect the knit dresses will work next year for a while.

My H&M didn't get many leggings in the bigger girl sizes. Have been going weekly to nab navy blue
