Default Need help finding shoes for this dress.

In a few weeks I'm going to a Dinner/fundraiser for our conservative Catholic school. It won't be showy AT ALL. It will be pretty conservative with members of the diocese there. But, people there will be well-dressed. Last year the ladies there ranged from capris to dressy suits. I got a dress on sale from anthro that I love because it's cute and comfortable without showing my bumpy parts. So, I just realized the shoes I planned to wear with this dress are not the color I thought they were. The shoes don't match so I need to find some different ones.

The dress is the navy eyelet one at the bottom of the page. http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/...thes-mik-6.jsp I plan to do a long silvertone necklace similar to this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/81863788...-silver-plated Mine will be longer though, and will have the large shell loops incorporated into the chain which are big silvery links. I got it at Target but can't find the link. It also hangs down below my bustline.

Anyway, I did a search this afternoon for shoes and came up with these:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/franco-s...=&resultback=0 I like the little bit of green but especially the neutrals.

DH likes these in silver: http://www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/p...FUS4KgodSUmtjQ I'm not crazy about them.

I like these. Maybe they are a little sexy for the dress though. Maybe the dress needs a little more sexy. hmmm... http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/bcbgener...=&resultback=0

Or I could just get a new big chunky necklace with lots of pinks and turquoises and do some colorful shoes like this: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/via-spig...e&resultback=0 in orange.

or Maybe something else entirely. Any suggestions?

I like the last sandal the best. I love navy, and the necklace sounds very pretty. Why can't I ever find jewlery at Target?

I don't love any of them with the dress, to be completely honest. I think it's because the dress is eyelet-- I feel like the silver are too eveningish/sexy, but I don't know that I love the jute/rope heel on the wedge sandals. I like the idea of a color. Do you definitely want a heel? I'll edit if I find something...I feel like the dress requires a shoe that's a bit more Audrey Hepburnish, if that makes any sense at all. I do like the necklace, though would find shoes first and let that be the guiding factor.

    ETA:
so, if you would consider flat shoes, I think this color always looks good with navy:

This isn't going to be easy because of eyelet, which sometimes can be a bit casual, and for whatever reason I think of white sandals with eyelet. I would order a bunch of different sandals and see what works.

The photo of the dress was kind of small so I couldn't see the detail.

Of all of the shoes you posted I liked the silver stacked heel ones the best.

Default What about these sandals that I already own?

I agree that I'm not in love with any of the choices I posted. The problem is that the material, cotton, feels so casual. But the cut of the dress- you are right, definitely Audrey Hepburnish- almost calls for her classic ballet flats or covered toe kitten heels.

I loved all your sandals suggestions but I think the event calls for something a bit more dressy. Besides, I can't wear flat sandals like that anymore. I gotta have a bit of support in the flat or have a bit of a heel or my feet and legs kill me.

I did remember that I had bought these shoes for another dress (which is too tight right now ) and I thought that with a chunky colorful necklace, these could work. Picture these in deep-pinkish cherry red: http://www.amazon.com/Via-Spiga-sand.../dp/B008A04PGM

I found this little fabric clutch purse at Target today 50% off and the red beads on it exactly match my red shoes. I could picture the dress with a big multicolor beaded necklace, the red shoes and this purse. What do you think? http://www.target.com/OpenZoomLayer?...+Beaded+Clutch

    I appreciate everyone's input!

I agree I thought the flats were a little too casual. I think the Via Spiga ones you posted are cute. Cute bag as well!

Thank you. I think I"m just going to wear the via spigas. I have a necklace that would match them too and look nice with the dress. DH thinks I'm overthinking this but I just hate trying to put together outfits!
