Bare legs/tights/? In a professional setting

If you work in a professional setting and wear skirts or dresses, what, if anything, do you wear on your legs? I am hoping to land a volunteer gig in my field, law, in an office that I believe is on the dressy side of business casual. I already own some skirts that should be suitable. But I am not certain what to wear with them. Tights? Bare legs? Panty hose are still horribly unfashionable, right? I'd be starting in August and the weather in San Francisco is usually sunny and warm all fall (highs in the 70s).

I realize this may not be the case everywhere, but around here, bare legs in warm weather and tights in cold weather are worn in the office and in court all the time, and not just by people in my office, by all of the female attorneys. During a jury trial is the one time some of the female attorneys seem to suck it up and wear nude hose instead of bare legs.

I do government relations, so I'm around lobbyists, congressional staffers, association professionals, etc, and we gals tend to go bare legged in the summer and tights in the winter.

Even in stuffier NYC law offices, bare legs were the norm except in court, when skirt suits and hose were generally considered most appropriate.

When I worked a block south of the CA state capital and around mortgage brokers, lobbyists, accountants, and lawyers that was the norm in 2004 as well. Nude or black hose might have still been somewhat normal, but bare legs were pretty acceptable then. I really miss that atmosphere honestly. I miss pulling out my suit and wearing it to work once a week just because I felt like it.

I would wear dress slacks the first couple of days just to see what the norm. is.

I am in sales and we wear bare legs most of the time except in cold winter

Bare legs during the warm months, nude/tan or black hose during colder weather with skirts. That said, I've been known to stretch definition of warm quite a bit, being in CA.

Unless uber conservative it is all about the bare leg and tights in winter. People will be going bare leg in October. I hate hose so I mostly do pants until I can do tights and high boots.
