Has anyone used the dry method for having your carpets cleaned? Does it work just as well as the wet/ steam method? Any negatives?

I don't know much about it, but are they using chemicals? If so then I'd be against it.

i did it on a berber carpet 15 years ago and hated it. Never felt the carpet was really cleaned and the stuff they used never fully came out of the space between the carpet and wall
