What options are there for water proof carriers or wraps? Looking for something to use in the pool this summer with our one year old. Not a huge fan of the ring sling and would prefer a soft structured carrier if such a thing exists. TIA

Not much that's water-proof, but there are a couple of wraps that are made of Lycra-Spandex blends like are used in swimsuits, and at least one mei tai made of SolarWeave or SolarVeil.

I have this one that I used last summer with DS2. It works just like a moby. Used it all the time. http://www.etsy.com/listing/73084883...r+baby+carrier

They were hard to find back when I was looking for one. But we did end up getting a waterproof soft structured carrier. At the time our options were the Porpoise baby carry One Step Ahead had and other was the SportsBaby Carrier by Onboard Outfitters. We went with the SportsBaby because I found a new one off ebay at a great price.
Didn't get around using it with the first kid who we bought it for, but we did use it at the water park wave pool a few time. It works like a bjorn, so it hurt my back after awhile (i'm spoiled by my ergo). But it didn't bother DH.
I have the wrapsody one and LOVED it.
I've had a solarveil ring sling for years, but that doesn't sound like what you are looking for.
If you do find something that you think will work for you, make sure you know if the pool you'll be using will allow you to use it. I don't think it would be permitted at my local community pool

I was just going to add what the PPer said. Check to see if your pool will allow them. Our Y did not.

I just asked this very question on our local babywearing FB page and someone suggested this sling. They seemed to feel a sling would be cooler (for me) than a wrap, although I don't know a wrap might be easier, I was leaning towards the Etsy one mentioned above. Has anyone used this sling?
