Default What can I layer over this dress?

I bought this dress and I love the fit but I would like to be able to layer something over the top sometimes. The fabric is terry. Any ideas? TIA

I would probably wear a light sweater like this http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/i...%26slotId%3D11
And then belt it. I actually have a lightweight cotton cardigan that is 3/4 length sleeve that's perfect over maxi dresses but I'm seeing anything like it on a quick search.

I would be more inclined to wear a shell or tshirt under it.

You might want to try tying a white or chambray shirt over it. I've been doing this a lot this summer (it was my go-to look on my trip to Israel, where I often had to keep my shoulders covered).

A denim jacket (preferably fitted, rather than boxy) also looks cute with a maxi dress.

I would do a denim jacket or a shirt tied over the dress.
