Have AG dolls changed dramatically over the years?

My mom has a Molly AG doll from when I was little which is still in great shape and we have a bunch of the clothes and accessories as well. Anyone know if the Molly they are selling now is dramatically different? I was considering purchasing Emily for my DD before she retired, thinking them we would have both, but wasn't sure if the two would have big differences.

I feel that the skin tones are different, the texture & "weight" of the vinyl is a bit different from mine, which were manufactured by Pleasant Company.

However, I don't think they're different enough for this to be an issue.
