    Default College graduation gift?

I just realized our spectacular babysitter is graduating from college this spring. We live in a college town, but we've used this sitter almost exclusively for the past few years. I'd love to get her a modest gift, say around $50 as a budget. She's a national track and field star and is going on to medical school. Any suggestions?

We buy all graduates large size L.L. Bean Adventure duffels. They last forever and give them much-needed luggage. Works for high school, college, grad school, male or female. I think the last one we bought was $55, shipped.

If she's headed to medical school...

Gift cards for food/coffee wherever the college is (either on-campus, or nearby eateries)

A cute ID lanyard/clip that would remind her of your kids (something they do together?) There's some cute ones made from vaccine flip-off lids on Etsy, which medical people usually get a kick out of. Search "ID Badge Medication" and you'll see what I mean. They are all the rage at my old office. You can pair this with something else.

A sweatshirt from her upcoming school (or anything else from her new school).

A gift card for a "grown-up" clothing store, if needed/appropriate. (We had several residents come into our clinic in clothes a bit too revealing for clinic.)

I'd say just cash or a gift card to Target. If she's living in student housing or her own apartment she'll probably need a lot of necessities like sheets, towels, and basic household and personal items.

Cash. Maybe plan to send care packages to her periodically during her first year (coffee, cookies, some healthy snacks).

Okay, so, cash! Do you think $50 is an okay amount, or would you give more? How much would you give? This is for an occasional babysitter, not a nanny.
