One more thing I learned -- I asked new OBGYN, assuming I never had HPV, how did my original OBGYN find abnormal cells to sample and biopsy when she did my colposcopy? New dr said you can have questionable-looking cervical tissue and not have HPV. I had assumed since original OBGYN took biopsy samples that I must have had HPV.
Thanks again to everyone for the support, and thanks to those who sent PMs as well![/QUOTE]
I had a biopsy/colposcopy for abnormal tissue and was treated for stage 3 cervical abnormalities, I have had yearly paps/std screenings since 18 and always tested negative for HPV. It is possible for abnormal cells to occur without HPV.
I am very glad you got 2nd opinion and things are well now!
