Default Bunk beds - which color?

For whatever reason, I can't decide. It's not even an expensive bunk bed! I'm torn between white, honey and natural.

The boys want honey, but I'm a bit worried that it's too orange.

Natural wears the best. We have espresso and it has worn horribly. Ds3's bed is natural and it looks brand new, as did all my kids' natural finish cribs.

I agree that natural is probably best unless you're trying to match other furniture. The honey is my least favorite.

Our floors are the orangey honey color, and they need to be refinished. I always feel that honey color matches it too much. We have dark in the boys rooms and white in DD's so it balances out the orange floors.

Hmm. See, I thought the honey was the nicest looking of the beds. I'm not a fan of the natural one. I wouldn't go with white for boys, though.

Natural! I don't care for the honey. White is great if you are going to be matching it to other things in the room. I'm just not big on white for boys. The natural also seems like it would take abuse better .

Personally, I like the cherry best--esp for boys.

For me, I liked the cherry and espresso best. Of the choices OP mentioned, I voted for natural. If the boys really want the honey, however, I doubt it's really as orange as it may seem in that photo. I don't have a problem with using white in a boys' room either. PBK does it a lot. I was mainly thinking about what might wear the best. If it's going to get bumped or scratched then white may show wear the most.

I like the look of the darker colors, but I agree that they don't wear well. We have a cherry/espresso crib that has gotten scratched and you can see the natural wood, it looks terrible!

If I was torn or didn't feel strongly one way or another, I would just let them chose!

Thanks! I found the same set on Amazon and found some TERRIBLE reviews (breakage - eek). We're back to having a set custom built locally. The question is still relevant though, since we need to pick a stain. I'm tempted to just do a wipe on stain with a wax coat. That's what's on their beds now - my dad and I did it a good 30 years ago and they're still in fabulous shape.
