    Default bogs, other boots? help?

I'm ISO winter boots for my kiddos. they play outside year round, so needs to be warm and dry, but all our hand me downs have been very stiff and seem uncomfortable (from lands end and childrens place and not sure where else).

dd did have a pair of Kamit that she seemed to like but they are too small.

i see lots of good reviews for bogs, is that the way to go? for sure i'll get the baby bogs for dd2 (age 15 months) and I love the flexible sole of the Summit, but will they really stay warm and dry?

6pm has some for about 40 and with teh amazon 20% off kids clothes/shoes right now, they come in about 40 as well. is this a good price?

    any input is very welcome.

My big kids love bogs. For actual playing in the snow, they have kamik though. Because bogs are open at the top snow would get inside when playing in the snow, kwim? So they have both because the kamiks pull closed tight around the top to keep snow out.
For my toddler this past year we loved the LL Bean northwoods but they were the older style than is on the website now. So easy to get off and on, though. I will probably do the kamiks for her next year but she will need much more help to get them on and off. Unless I can find her the old style of LL Bean ones secondhand.

My older DD will only wear leggings, Hanna Anderson specifically.

Actually, there are different styles of Bogs. DGD1 has had a couple of pairs of the insulated Bogs. They were actually warm enough for her to wear in the winter, but because the tops are open, they're not great for snow. At the same time, despite the insulation, she wore them almost year-round and they weren't too hot.

This year, I got her a pair of Bogs rain boots. Although they're the classic Bogs pull-on style, they don't have the insulation so I doubt they'll be comfy in colder weather. They just look like a good rain boot.

My kids wear their bogs year round (insulated) except for the summer. They are fine and warm in snow. But for playing in the snow the open top won't keep snow out. Hope that helps!

We are in Vermont and my daughter wears BOGs for playing in snow. She has the insulated ones of course. We pull the snow-pants down over the boot. So that solves the open top problem with snow getting in.

Same here, in Michigan. I'd guess about half of the kids at our elementary school wear Bogs in the winter, tons of snow play here. They do the same thing, pull the snow pants down. Works great!
