After they looked into it (also ultrasound, I think), he just did indeed have big noggin. He has always been a very bright little boy, his dad is extremely intelligent - maybe there are more smarts in there? Hopefully things work out the same way for yours.

    PT's and hugs.
that was me with DS1! i was actually in labor for 28 hours and he just.wouldn't.fit through with his big head and wide shoulders. Ended up having an emergency c section as his heart rate was declining. This is largely why i scheduled myself for a repeat c section with ds2 when his head was measuring big again.

I hope your case also turns out to be nothing serious. Sending hugs and PT.
Thanks to all. It's reassuring to know turned out to be nothing for most of you, meanwhile i'll think positively! the ped was mainly concerned with the amount of growth in such a short period of time. He went from 70 percentile for HC to 97% now. DS1 always measured over 80% at every wellness checkup but really levelled off though.

We had a similar scare with DS2 except that his measurement didn't move at all from one appointment to the next. We had to see a neurosurgeon and they got us in ASAP which was really scary for us. I mean you're used to having to wait to see a specialist and when they got us in that quick we were really worried. Everything turned out fine for us. Prayers that the same happens for you.

It's hard when the percentiles are measured by a fraction of an inch. Because if they measure in a different spot, or don't pull the tape tight, it can be the difference between average and "whoa!" DS had one head measurement that would have put him in the 70th percentile, but all the rest were off the charts. I figure they just measured wrong one time.

    Sending good thoughts your way.

This is what I'm thinking happened, too. You've got a kiddo with a big head and someone screwed up the measuring. I remember when we had one nurse measuring I think Dolly's head and on paper it looked like her head shrank! But even just eyeballing her the doctor could see there was nothing wrong and remeasured. It was so dumb.
